This brief introduction will focus on understanding our interiority using the Internal Family Systems method (IFS) as a means to familiar prayer with God/Jesus/Spirit. We all have parts of us that are sad, joyful, anxious, discouraged, happy, funny and many more. Having such parts are a natural part of adult life and sharing such interior movements in a familiar way with God/Jesus/Spirit is what Ignatian prayer helps us to do.
Sometimes prayer feels like the best kept secret of the saints, but the reality is that it is as easy to do as a baby murmuring "Mama!" During this retreat we will talk about and experience a variety of prayer modes: vocal prayer, Scriptural prayer, meditative prayer, contemplative prayer, lectio divina which includes many of these types of prayer. Above all, we will gaze upon our God in the Eucharist and let Him speak to us.
