Bishop appoints committee members to advise him, the Vicars, and the diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection on all matters related to preventing and addressing personal boundary violation behaviors, especially those related to the sexual abuse of children, youth, and legally vulnerable adults in the Diocese of Spokane.
God of endless love, ever caring, ever strong, always present, always just: You gave your only Son to save us by his blood on the cross.
Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace, join to your own suffering the pain of all who have been hurt in body, mind, and spirit by those who betrayed the trust placed in them.
Hear the cries of our brothers and sisters who have been gravely harmed, and the cries of those who love them. Soothe their restless hearts with hope, steady their shaken spirits with faith. Grant them justice for their cause, enlightened by your truth.
Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts, heal your people’s wounds and transform brokenness into wholeness. Grant us the courage and wisdom, humility and grace, to act with justice. Breathe wisdom into our prayers and labors. Grant that all harmed by abuse may find peace in justice. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Dios del amor infinito,
Siempre presente, siempre justo;
Dígnate unir a tu propio sufrimiento

Network ministries that promote healing and Christian restorative justice for adults, families, and faith communities wounded by child abuse:
The Review Board is a confidential consultative body to the Catholic Bishop of Spokane and his advisors. The Review Board oversees policies and procedures to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct and other inappropriate behavior by church persons. Responsibilities include: 1) advising the Bishop in his assessment of sexual abuse accusations against clergy and in his determination of suitability for ministry; 2) assuring immediate assistance to victims, timely cooperation with civil authorities, and the just treatment of accused persons.
The majority of its members are lay persons not employed by the diocese.
Pursuant to Article 26 of the Second Plan of Reorganization, the Catholic Diocese of Spokane will post on its website the names of all known Spokane Diocesan clergy, religious order clergy not incardinated in the Catholic Diocese of Spokane who nevertheless were functioning as clergy in and for the Spokane Diocese, and other religious order clergy and religious that served within the Catholic Diocese of Spokane who are admitted, proven or credibly accused perpetrators of sexual abuse. For any perpetrator of abuse who was a Spokane Diocesan clergy and is deceased, the name of that perpetrator will be posted in accordance with the policy of the Review Board of the Spokane Diocese which provides for publication of the name of the deceased perpetrator against whom a credible allegation of sexual abuse has been made only if that posting is requested by a victim of that perpetrator.
