JJ comes to the Diocese of Spokane from Puyallup, Washington. He was baptized at age 18 in an evangelical church and through inquiry, poetry, and grief found himself with only one option - convert to Catholicism. Confirmed in 2018, JJ is on fire to see all in love with the person of Jesus Christ through the joyous union offered in the Eucharist and the loving care and guidance that Holy Mother Church gives. A year after being confirmed, he married his saintly wife Jordan and now they are celebrating the fruit of their love, baby Zelie. JJ played college baseball, loves reading theology that is way over his head, listening to the same Gregorian chant playlist in the morning, and drinking the best coffee. He is not competitive at all but challenges anyone to a round of disc golf or a game of ping pong.
